the promotion of students' self-efficacy in science class through concept mapping teaching approach

the goal of this research is to determine students' self-efficacy in science class through a teaching approach based on conceptual maps. the population consisted of all students who were the first high school freshmen in sarpole-zahab town. a total of 60 students were selected by cluster random sampling method. they were randomly assigned to the treatment and control groups. in the control group, the conventional teaching approach was upheld while in the experimental group, materials were presented through a concept teaching approach. the data collection tools used in this research consisted of concept mapping and self-efficacy questionnaires (seq). the data was analyzed by using independent t-test and multivariate analysis of variance.the findings showed that there were significant differences in the post-test between the experimental and control groups. there were also statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of subscales including emotional self-efficacy (p=008/0), educational self-efficacy (p=001/0)and social self-efficacy (p=001/0).
